AIR FREIGHT & REGIONAL COMMERCIAL OPTIONS

No Air-Cargo Approval Yet?
Commercial Freight Options

You can still apply for regional commercial dispatch with a qualifying box truck or high-roof van. Our commercial focus includes industrial hot-shots, just-in-time automotive deliveries and regional retail line-haul across Texas.

Choose commercial freight or multiple freight types while your applicable credentials are being reviewed. If you want covered air-cargo work, discuss the applicable TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) and air-cargo security training. Airport / AOG work is reviewed for the driver, shipment and access location before acceptance. Restricted-area access requires the applicable airport authorization.

UnI’s specialized dispatch service represents dock-height 26-foot straight box trucks and high-roof cargo / Sprinter vans. Dispatch intake does not include Class 8 semi-tractors, flatbeds or hot-shot dually trailers. Administrative support is available separately for additional equipment types.

HOS / ELD-exempt expedited van operations

Qualifying standalone cargo vans below 10,001 lb in both manufacturer-rated GVWR and actual loaded weight, without placarded hazardous materials or qualifying passenger use, operate outside the federal CMV definition and its HOS / ELD requirements. Trailer combinations and applicable state rules can change the requirements. We review the specific operation and plan safe expedited schedules.

What Carriers
Need to Know

UnI supports independent carrier businesses operating dock-height 26-foot box trucks and high-roof cargo / Sprinter vans. Your carrier supplies the vehicle and provides transportation. We review business details, equipment and credentials before agreeing on dispatch services.

01

Your business details

Share your carrier company name, contact information, operating status, and USDOT, MC, and TxDMV numbers if applicable. We discuss authority and insurance verification during onboarding.

02

Your vehicle and availability

Report usable cargo dimensions, legal payload, loading equipment, preferred lanes and available days. The blueprints above describe our airport equipment targets. Other high-roof cargo vans and rail-liftgate box trucks are reviewed for shipment fit. Each loaded vehicle must remain within its weight ratings.

03

Your decisions and responsibilities

You decide whether to accept each load, operate your vehicle, and remain responsible for transportation and freight billing. We agree on dispatch fees, services, and communication expectations in writing. Loads and earnings are not guaranteed.

AIRPORT PICKUP, DELIVERY & AOG CARGO

Driver Requirements
for Air Freight & AOG

Aircraft on Ground (AOG) shipments carry urgent parts needed to return an aircraft to service. Drivers handling airport freight must meet the requirements for the specific shipment and pickup location. We review equipment fit, driver eligibility and release procedures with your carrier and the freight partner before booking.

01

We review driver eligibility

Applicable STA approval, air-cargo training and airport access are reviewed with your carrier company and the freight partner before assignment. Required credentials are verified for the assigned driver and covered work.

02

We check pickup access

We confirm the pickup location and its access rules with the freight partner. If restricted-area access is required, your driver’s applicable badge and training must be verified before the assignment.

03

We coordinate shipment details

For airport and AOG shipments, we review cargo release instructions, air waybill references where applicable, pickup readiness, delivery deadlines, and authorized handoff contacts. Vehicle availability and timing are confirmed for each assignment.

Air-cargo eligibility is verified for the driver and assignment. No TSA certification or airport-access approval is implied. Read the federal air-cargo rules

DRIVERS & CARRIERS · PREFERRED AIRPORT LANES

Port Freight with
an Airport Destination

Our port dispatch focus is airport-bound freight from Houston-area terminals, cargo warehouses and suppliers. The receiving airport is confirmed for each shipment. Share your preferred routes, service area, available days and home-time needs so opportunities can be reviewed against your preferences.

Emergency marine / industrial parts and small shipments are welcome, alongside other nonhazardous freight that fits your Sprinter van or 26-foot box truck. Freight must be released for pickup, and imports must have cleared customs. We confirm loading needs, legal payload, pickup access and airport receiving arrangements for each assignment.

Port and airport access, air-cargo eligibility and shipment requirements are reviewed separately. You retain the decision to accept each load; dedicated routes, recurring loads and earnings are not guaranteed.

CARRIER ONBOARDING · THREE CLEAR STEPS

Profile. Authorization.
UnI Review.

Independent carriers: start with your profile, then complete the private authorization page. Company drivers may submit a profile, but their carrier’s authorized representative must sign the agreement.

  1. 01

    Carrier Profile

Share your business details, equipment, preferred routes, availability and reported credentials. Submitting the profile opens Step 2 immediately.

  2. 02

    Dispatch Authorization

Your carrier’s authorized representative reviews the agreement, uploads applicable operating authority documents and a Certificate of Insurance, and provides an electronic signature through the private signing page.

  3. 03

    UnI Review

Your packet will be reviewed. If accepted, the agreement will be countersigned. Agreement acceptance and carrier approval are separate steps; credentials and onboarding approval are reviewed before loads are assigned.

After approval, UnI presents suitable freight opportunities. Your carrier chooses whether to accept each load and its written terms, provides transportation, and receives dispatch support for shipment updates and delivery records.

Driver & carrier profile

Do not enter your driver’s license number. License suitability is reviewed for the vehicle and assignment.

Accepted: dock-height 26-foot box trucks and high-roof cargo / Sprinter vans. Semi-trucks with trailers, flatbeds and dually trailers are not eligible.

AOG-only intake requires reported approved STA status. All credentials and any airport access are verified before covered work; selecting a preference does not approve a driver.

Sprinter van criteria for airport / AOG work: 170-inch wheelbase, extended-length high-roof body, E-track, cargo-securement straps, solid bulkhead, and manufacturer-rated GVWR of 10,000 lb or less. Box trucks require a 26-foot dock-height body; tuckunder / tuckaway liftgates are preferred and rail configurations are reviewed. These Sprinter criteria do not apply to box trucks. Other high-roof cargo vans are reviewed for actual shipment fit. GVWR is the maximum rated loaded vehicle weight, not its empty weight. Eligibility and supporting records are reviewed during onboarding.

Cargo-securement equipment — check all that apply *

Select what your truck or van currently carries or has installed. Rails and matching straps are separate items. Ratings, installation and shipment suitability are verified before assignment.

For port-to-airport work, tell us your preferred service area, routes and maximum distance. The airport destination is determined by each shipment. Your preferences guide matching; they do not guarantee loads or a dedicated route.

Airport / AOG readiness

These answers are self-reported. Applicable assessments, training, and access must be verified with the freight partner before covered air-cargo work.

Driver & equipment readiness (optional)

Self-reported only. STA approval and an airport-issued Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge are different credentials; the applicable assessment, training and access must be verified before covered work. Do not enter assessment or badge numbers.

Your initial profile is saved privately and opens Step 2 immediately. After signing, agreement PDF copies are sent through FormSubmit to UnI and your stated carrier email, following any required spam-protection check.

What happens next?

After you submit, Step 2 opens for your carrier’s authorized representative to review and sign the dispatch agreement and upload authority and insurance documents. Your packet will be reviewed. If accepted, the agreement will be countersigned. Carrier approval and credential verification are completed before loads are assigned.

Submitting information does not confirm a booking, carrier approval, TSA eligibility, or employment.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Driver & Carrier FAQs

Does UnI operate the vehicles?

Transportation is provided by independent motor carriers. UnI provides dispatch and administrative support under a written agreement with each carrier.

Is this a driving job or a lease-on program?

This is intake for dispatch support. UnI does not provide a vehicle, carrier operating authority or driver employment. Company drivers may submit details, but their carrier company must authorize dispatch services.

Are routes or earnings guaranteed?

No. Freight availability, rates, partner approval, and equipment requirements vary. Each opportunity must be reviewed before acceptance.

What equipment should I have?

UnI’s specialized dispatch service represents dock-height 26-foot straight box trucks and high-roof cargo / Sprinter vans. Dispatch intake does not include Class 8 semi-tractors, flatbeds or hot-shot dually trailers. Administrative support is available separately for additional equipment types. Airport / AOG Sprinter targets include a 170-inch wheelbase, extended-length high-roof body, E-track, cargo straps, solid bulkhead and manufacturer-rated GVWR of 10,000 lb or less. Other high-roof cargo vans are reviewed against shipment fit. Box trucks must be 26-foot and dock-height; report the liftgate configuration and capacity. Vehicle and driver eligibility are verified during onboarding.

What is AOG cargo?

AOG means Aircraft on Ground. These are time-sensitive aircraft parts shipments needed to return an aircraft to service. UnI coordinates the ground pickup and delivery portion with suitable carriers; shipment fit, driver approval, access, and timing are confirmed before booking.

Does a TWIC card qualify me for air freight?

TWIC serves maritime access needs. It does not automatically provide airport access or satisfy every air-cargo approval requirement. The freight partner must verify the security assessment, training, and access requirements that apply to the assignment.

When can I contact dispatch?

Regular load planning, backhauls and new carrier intake are handled Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Emergency AOG and port-to-airport support is available 24/7/365. For urgent AOG, port-to-airport or active expedited-load coordination, call (832) 900-0677. Communication and escalation expectations are agreed with your carrier during onboarding.

How are dispatch fees handled?

The agreement sets a dispatch fee of 8% of gross load revenue or $150 per completed booked load, whichever is greater. UnI issues weekly invoices due within three business days of receipt. Your carrier remains responsible for transportation and freight billing.
